Over the past decade, the Association for Civil Society Organizations of Tigray (ACSOT) has implemented numerous projects in collaboration with international donors, local partners, and community structures. Our programs focus on accountability, inclusion, capacity building, and resilience. Below is a summary of our key projects, their objectives, focus areas, and impacts.
ACSOT implemented ESAP2–ESAP3 (2011–2022), first as an implementing partner in Endamokeni District and later as a lead organization in 24 woredas of Tigray and 2 in Afar. The project raised citizen awareness on rights and improved duty bearers’ responsiveness.
From 2011–2013, ACSOT led a consortium of 4 CSOs to strengthen networking, linkage, and capacity building among woreda-level CSOs and community structures in 9 woredas.
ACSOT led 10 CSOs (2014–2015) implementing income-generating activities, capacity building, and community outreach to support hard-to-reach communities.
Implemented at regional level (2015–2016), this project built coordination among CSOs and government institutions for mainstreaming HIV/AIDS responses.
Conducted 2014–2015, this project mapped and networked CSOs engaged in HIV/AIDS response across Tigray, strengthening data sharing and coordination.
A six-month project in 2015, implemented in Addi-Gudom, to build CSO capacity and promote dialogue with government for improved civic space.
In collaboration with REST under EU-CSF (2014–2015), ACSOT conducted training and networking activities to enhance CSO performance.
A short-term (2015–2016) initiative strengthening GO–CSO relationships through dialogue platforms and collaboration mechanisms.
From 2019–2021, ACSOT led a consortium of 5 CSOs to coordinate and monitor social minority inclusion projects across Tigray.
Implemented 2018–2019 across four woredas (Kolla-Tembien, Hawzien, Yechilla, Degua-Tembien) to enhance CSO coordination and visibility
In partnership with ECSOF (2021), ACSOT standardized regional SOPs for GBV protection and data management across institutions.
Led by ASDEPO and implemented by ACSOT in Maichew (2022–2023), this project focuses on awareness, prevention, and survivor support.
ESAP-3 (June 2023–Jan 2024) focuses on restoring health, education, and WASH services in 14 woredas of Tigray through citizen engagement.
Conducted from November 2023 to October 2024 to assess CSO presence, capacity, and post-conflict recovery needs.
This ongoing initiative empowers community and religious leaders with trauma-informed approaches to enhance community recovery and psychosocial support.
